What to expect during an eVisit

Sometimes, it just can't wait for an appointment. To help you stay well without ever having to leave home, Baylor Scott & White Health has expanded our virtual care options. From video visits to messaging directly with your primary care physician, these virtual care options are designed to help you stay healthy, manage ongoing medical conditions and get quick care for any new health issues that arise.

One virtual care option that gives you fast access to trusted medical care is an eVisit. Here's everything you need to know about completing an eVisit through MyBSWHealth.

What is an eVisit?

An eVisit lets you receive an online diagnosis and treatment plan for common medical conditions. All you have to do is fill out a short, self-guided questionnaire explaining a little about yourself and your symptoms. The questionnaire should only take a few minutes to complete, and you'll receive a response within an hour.

A Baylor Scott & White provider who has secure access to your medical record will review your eVisit and can even prescribe medication to your preferred pharmacy. No appointment is necessary, and eVisits are available 24/7—even on weekends and holidays—so you can always get the care you need.

What can be treated at an eVisit?

An eVisit is a fast, affordable and secure way to receive trusted care from the safety of your home for common conditions and symptoms.

Some examples of conditions we can treat with an eVisit include:

• Cold, flu, allergies or sinus issues
• Common adult female issues
• Common eye and mouth problems
• Skin and nail concerns
• Stomach/digestive issues
• Swimmer's ear
• Refills: EpiPen and asthma inhalers
• Travel medication

How do you sign up for an eVisit?

Before you start an eVisit, you’ll need to log in to MyBSWHealth. If you don’t have an account, download the app today or text BETTER to 88408.

To begin an eVisit:

1. Open your MyBSWHealth app or log in via web browser to your online account.
2. Select Get Care.
3. Select 24/7 virtual care.
4. Choose eVisit.
5. Follow the prompts to complete the questionnaire.

Your questionnaire will be reviewed by a Baylor Scott & White provider and you'll receive a response within an hour, including any next steps, treatment recommendations and prescription information.

Anyone ages 2 years and older who is located in the state of Texas can use eVisits to receive care, as long as you meet the qualifications for conditions able to be treated via eVisit. For children under the age of 18, the child's parent or legal guardian must have a MyBSWHealth account linked to the child's account first, and you must complete the eVisit under the child's account.
